1. The Last Unicorn

Kids of the 80s and 90s with parents cool enough to know about this will recall the magic of The Last Unicorn. The 1982 adaptation of Peter S Beagle’s fantasy novel was a mixture of japanese animation, haunting folk music from 70s band America, and voices such as Alan Arkin, Mia Farrow, Christopher Lee and Jeff Bridges.

One of the best scenes has to be the one where The Unicorn is kidnapped by Mummy Fortuna and her Midnight Carnival. As people no longer believe in Unicorns, the old witch gives her a false horn that they can see. It is here that she meets Shmendrick the magician for the first time and her adventure truly begins.
